I no longer work at Gyu-Kaku.
It's sad to say, but it was time. I still love everyone there, and I am still so grateful for the experience, but I was tired of waiting tables and... it was time.
I'm trying to focus on school now. I need to keep my GPA up and live up to my potential. Meanwhile I have a freelance essay-editing job with an online company. I just finished my first three assignments, which are reviewed before they're sent back to the customer. It's a lot harder than I expected it to be, not just in the editing but in the whole professional package. I hope it pays off... once I get the hang of it.
It feels so weird to have weekends and evenings back, to have my life back! Saturday night rolls around, and I get so giddy because there's still Sunday to enjoy. And for the first time since we moved into the house, I'm around when my roommate Yaran is, and I actually get to interact with him. He's a fun guy. Who knew? It's a good start to the new year. I have high hopes.
So even though it's the end of an era, and I no longer define myself as a Gyu-Kaku employee, and my social life is about to change dramatically, I'm optimistic. There's still fun to be had with my Gyu-family, but there's lots of other stuff to look forward to as well.
