Holiday!!

It feels SO GOOD to be done with exams. I don't think, even in all my years at P'ton, I ever felt this glad to be done. But still it's been pretty nonstop since then... the fun kind though.

Tuesday after my last exam, I hurried downtown to meet B and the band. The lead singer's mom was in town and treated us all to dinner. It was so much fun! And the swordfish in wasabi sauce I had was excellent.
The next morning I woke up with an agenda. First B and I had breakfast at a nearby diner. Nothing fancy, just eggs and sausage and home fries. Hit the spot. Then I came home and jumped into...

cleaning the bathroom! If you've spoken on the phone with me at all recently, you know this has been on my mind for like two months. I last cleaned it in October. In all our time living together, B has cleaned it once, which I very much appreciated. B does lots of other housework, so it doesn't matter. Our other roommate, on the other hand, has *never* cleaned the bathroom. As we were running around so much in November, I never had a chance. Then once December started I had so much schoolwork to catch up on for finals, AND I had to put in enough hours at the hospital, it fell to the bottom of my list. Though I thought and talked about it constantly, I felt it was not important for B or I, who had so much going on before the end of the year.

I desperately desperately hoped our roommate would do it, but of course, no such luck.

So Wednesday, I gave up waiting. I had little hope that he might clean it while B and I were away, especially since he's now planning to move out in January. (Know anyone who needs a place in the city?) And it felt SO GOOD. I spent like two or three hours on it, taking my time, taking breaks, scrubbing well. Man, I don't know what exactly happens in a bathtub, but the smell was pretty bad as I scrubbed in the Ajax.

Once the bathroom(s) were done, I dyed my hair and showered. Then I ran out to meet H, who was Christmas shopping in midtown. She was on a roll! Had like six bags by the time we left. She picked up a 16th birthday present for her cousin at Tiffany & Co. It was like my first or second time in the store, so that was kind of exciting. Then we went to her place on the UWS and had dinner at a nearby Ethiopian restaurant. Yum.

Thursday I went to the hospital in the morning. It was slow at first but picked up. I wanted to leave early because I had to drop stuff off at Columbia before the offices closed. Luckily I ran into my supervisor and the new girl she's training as her replacement just before I left. She was very positive in her description of me to the new girl, so I hope I don't let her down. I ran out of there at 2:30 and headed to Columbia.

It took a little searching for the mailboxes, but I finally delivered the last to recommendation packets on my list. Then I emailed the professors to let them know. I stopped by Duane Reade for misc goods before getting back on the subway. I did a little Christmas shopping on the way home, then met B at the house.

We ordered in Thai for dinner and ate quickly before heading out for EC's show. I went to high school with EC; we were voted Most Talented together. Well he's actually doing something with his talent, and I finally got to see him perform here in the city. He was hilarious! As expected. He told us that he had been hired, trained, and quickly fired by the Blue Man Group in Chicago. How crazy is that?! I know someone who was hired and trained as a Blue Man! Very exciting.

Today's plan is to get a manicure, finish Christmas shopping, hopefully start laundry, meet MO (former server coworker) at the restaurant for dinner, then hang out with H and the band. It should be fun!

And I'm so excited about going home to TX tomorrow. I need a vacation!

One down

It sure feels good to have one less exam to worry about. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be helping my concentration. Why can't I focus?! I know it's just a few more days, but somehow that isn't enough incentive for me. I'm just so ready to be done and go gift-shopping and go home.

*pout*

I have to start my AMCAS and secondary applications over the holiday. Fun fun. Oh, and we have to find a new roommate.
